We had a great time at our first crop/craft club so we’re holding some more, see the enclosed Workshop schedule for dates.  Why not join us for an informal get together with like minded crafters.  Work on your own project, swap ideas and share knowledge.     Enjoy the use of workshop equipment such as: Die cutting and embossing machines,  (including the Cricut and Cuttlebug), Stencils, Punches etc. but please bring your own consumables and basic tools (scissors craft knife, cutting mat etc.).  The cost is only £3 per person and includes refreshments.  If you wish to attend please leave your details with us to secure a place (prepayment is necessary).

Chat & Craft.  Like the Crop/craft club but these will take place every week on Mondays and Thursdays between 11am and 1pm. They will just cost £1.50 per session and includes refreshments.  Booking is not essential but places are limited.  In addition anybody attending the crop/craft club or Chat & Craft sessions will enjoy a 10% discount on purchases on the day (exclusions may apply).

Family Days.  Wondering how to keep the children entertained?  We have scheduled 3 Family days, where you and your child can spend some quality time together, and no mess to clear up!  The sessions cost £4 per child, adults attend completely free of charge and you get a coffee into the bargain.  Suitable for children aged 4 and up, younger children may be admitted at our discretion.  See the workshop schedule for details of all the above.

Stamp Library:  We are happy to introduce  our Rubber Stamp Library, starting August 1^st.  There is a £5 refundable joining fee which acts as a deposit for stamps loaned.  There is a nominal lending fee of £1-50 per stamp.  Members will need to be on our mailing list and contactable by telephone landline.  We have a wide and growing selection of stamps available, but be aware that some (now discontinued) stamps may only be used on the premises. 

Christmas is Coming.  We have Christmas stock arriving daily, so why not start your Christmas shopping early.  By popular demand we have brought back the Christmas wish list (enclosed).  Just fill it in with your 10 most wanted gift items and we’ll keep them on record for when friends and family visit to buy your gifts.

Hi There

At long last we have a workshop schedule, which is enclosed with this letter.  Workshops will be added more frequently now, so expect more on our next newsletter, due in around five weeks or so.

We are currently adding new fittings for all our workshop materials and at least this time we have plenty of space.

We are stocktaking in the first week in April so unfortunately the shop will be closed from the 2^nd of April to the 9^th of April and will re-open on the 10^th. In which time we are also hoping to fit the ceiling drapes.

Weekend Craft Extravaganza

Due to the success of our opening weekend craft extravaganza, we are holding another one: Look out for our next one with a host of crafting celebrities . Saturday April 28^th and Sunday 29^th  10am to 4pm. Featuring; Diane Dorward, Wendie Rhodes Audrey Sibbert all as seen on Ideal World and Create and Craft and more demonstrators besides. Use the voucher at the bottom of the page to get 10% discount during the Extravaganza weekend.  We’ll keep you posted about other demonstration days which will be held throughout the year. 

Now we have enough space, we will be running Childrens’ Holiday workshops during the Summer break and introducing Children’s Birthday Parties, we’ll keep you posted. 

We are holding our first crop/craft club on Friday May 18^th between 6pm and 9pm.  Come down and swap ideas and benefit from the use of our workshop tools and equipment (there will even be a Cricut Machine to hand).  There will be a workshop demonstrator in case you have any questions or need some help. The cost is only £3 per person and includes refreshments. 

Opening Times.  We now close at 4pm every day because the roads to the shop get congested at rush hour.  We open at 10pm Monday to Saturday and open at 12 Noon on Sundays.  We are not normally open on Bank Holidays.

You may have guessed that, at last, we’re moving to larger premises.  No more bumping into display units and squeezing through racks etc. (at least for the time being J).  The Gidlow lane store will close on the 19^th August.  . The move has been caused by the proposed residents parking scheme in Gidlow lane.

The clearance sale will start on 29th July with up to 50% discount on many items. 

Three day Craft Extravaganza!

26^th 27^th and 28^th of August

We’re celebrating our third birthday with the launch party of our new store on August Bank Holiday weekend 26^th, 27^th and 28^th  August.  Ample free parking and 2,000 square feet of Craft products including a seating area, so you can bring your sandwiches!  3 days (Saturday, Sunday, Bank Holiday Monday) of continuous craft demonstrations from some of the countries leading designers and demonstrators, with names like Jayne Nestorenko (as seen on Create and Craft), Wendie Rhodes (as seen on Create and Craft), Lyndsay Mason (as seen on Create and Craft) and Paul Church from WS designs, and many more.  Supported by; Making Cards magazine, Creative Expressions, Bramwells, Kuretake and Kars.  Plus Cricut preview.  Come and witness this fantastic electronic die cutting machine for yourself (no computer needed).  Free ‘Make and Takes’ for the children.  Free refreshments on the day.

We’re near the Pier!  Our new store is in the triangle building (shared with Swag 2), on Swan Meadow Road near the pier.  Our new address is; Card-io, Triangle Building, Swan Meadow Industrial Estate, Swan Meadow Road, Wigan WN3 5BJ.  There are stairs at these premises, please ring for details.  We will be organising a winter workshop schedule nearer the time and we will now be able to hold crop nights and run a craft club.

It’s been so long since we sent you a letter.  We have so much to tell you.

Don’t miss our Docraft Day on March 18^th.  This should be well worth while, because you will be able to buy all the materials needed to copy the demo in specially prepared goody bags for half the recommended price when bought separately!  You can also look forward to Demo Days presented by Bramwells on June 10^th and Trimcraft on June 24^th.  The Bramwells day was a real hit last year, when Jenny showed us some lovely cards, giving some great tips.  We will be publicising new Demo days throughout the year, see our posters in store and the website for details.

We have enclosed a brand new Workshop schedule with some new exciting craft techniques and ideas along with some favourites from last year.  Why not bring a packed lunch if you’re coming to a dinnertime workshop?  We recommend that you ring quickly to book on a workshop, but if your chosen one is fully booked it may be possible to arrange a private workshop as long as you can arrange a party of six friends.

 We will soon have all 72 Rubber Stamp Tapestry sets available in store, and the good news is that the price of these sets has dropped since last year.  Check out our website to see the latest designs and prices.

 We have many brand new products in store, these include new ranges of English Embossing Stencils and Elegance Stencils. We now have the FULL Range Clip Punches including 6 new designs.  There are some mirror Mosaic Tiles and new Wooden Embellishments.  Come and try the X-Stamper; these are self inking stamps and they’re Fab!  We also now stock a cool selection of Templates from Barking Dog.

But there’s more to come!  We’ve just got back from our trip to the States, and we’ve found some real gems that will be finding their way across the Atlantic over the coming months. 

We’re sorry that it has been so long since our last letter, but it is costly and takes such a long time to print the increasing number of letters.  We want to send you our news more often, and we feel this will be easier if we e-mail our news to all our customers who have an e-mail address.  E-mail, is more practical and cost effective, and those receiving their news by e-mail will get it that bit sooner than by post.  For your chance to win a beautiful Rubber Stamp Tapestry set please fill your e-mail address in the tear off slip at the bottom of this letter and hand it in to our store before the end of March.

Many of you have yet to pick up your loyalty cards.  They are available to collect in store.  Any newcomers to our mailing list will be able to pick up their card on our demo day this Saturday.

 We are running a Christmas wish list again this year.  Just leave a list of those craft goodies with us, and when friends and family come in to buy your pressies we can point them in the right direction.

 We have many brand new products in store, these include new stamps from Penny Black, Hobby Art, Hero Arts, Inkadinkadoo, new colours of Glitter Card, clip punches, emboss punches, new Rub-ons and Bulk Christmas colour card packs, emboss decoupage, embossing stencils and of course more designs from Rubber Stamp Tapestry.

Newsletter 11  25/8

The first piece of news is that PSX is no more.  We’re not sure what has happened, but the license for many of the most popular designs has been bought by Inkadinkadoo.  We believe though that they will be relabelled, and original PSX stamps may well become collectable.  We have quite a selection of PSX stickers including Christmas designs.  We don’t know if these will ever be available again.

Believe it or not, we’re celebrating our second birthday on 13^th August!  Where has the time gone?  Come and join us at the store and pick up your new loyalty card, we’ll have nibbles, and we’re giving double loyalty points on the day.  Plus some fantastic offers including a Christmas stamp bonanza; Buy any two Anitas or Whisper Xmas stamps and get a third (cheapest) one absolutely FREE.

DEMO DAYS: You will be pleased to note that all forthcoming demo days will be held in our workshop room, where some seating will be provided and it will be much easier to actually see what’s going on!

We are proud to represent two brand new lines in the UK: Paper Glide and Rubber Stamp Tapestry.

We are currently revamping our website.  The new address is www.card-io.co.uk.  We now have a selection of 15 Rubber Stamp Tapestry Sets to view on-line (although mail orders must be made over the phone at present).  Watch out for a card Gallery, projects and craft tips to be added over the coming months.  Plus a list of Shows Demos and workshops.

The ‘You can make-it’ show proved to be a great success.  So we’ll be exhibiting at more shows.  See us at the GMex September 2^nd to 4^th  (Stand BI6) and at Hobby Craft show (stand J28) at the NEC November 10^th to 13^th. We’ll be exhibiting alongside some of the biggest names in the business.  Come and see us demonstrating the new PaperGlide and Rubber Stamp Tapestry along with some other exciting products. 

Stamp Library:  We promised this for June, but when we started to sort things out, we realised there was much more involved than we anticipated.  We’ll introduce this just as soon as possible.

However on the stamping front, we are planning a ‘Stamp exchange’.  A service to you that will give you the opportunity to sell on those stamps you don’t use any more, and to pick up some second hand stamps and raise money for charity. 

Late night shopping  Don’t forget the shop will be open on those Monday evenings that we are running Workshops (see the list).  This is the ideal opportunity to come if you would like help, advice or perhaps a demonstration.
